Have you heard about the movement to prevent African-centered historical
information from reaching our people - particularly brothers and sisters on
the college campuses? An article called "African American Racism in the
Academic Community" can be found at:

Barry Mehler, who wrote the article, is the founder of the
Institute for the Study of Academic Racism (ISAR). ISAR staff have worked
with
Congress and the Justice Department. They maintain an on-line archive to
promote research on "academic racism." They monitor "campus racism" and are
supposed to be a resource center for legislators, journalists and civil
rights
groups. Guess who he's monitoring?
Mehler's main objective seems to be to rid the college campuses of our
African-centered scholars and speakers. He writes against Dr. John Henrik
Clarke, Dr. Ben, Dr. Leonard Jeffries, Professor Tony Martin, Ashra Kwesi and
others. (Whatever happened to freedom of speech)?
He was livid when he found that students of African descent are
being exposed to information that has not been sanctioned by white folks. He
also saw that some students have access to African-centered materials on
their
campuses. Mehler was infuriated when he saw that a Black faculty member had a
copy of Ashra Kwesi's tape on the African Origins of Judaism and Christianity
that was available for students. After viewing the tape, Mehler was so
upset
that he rallied knee-grow faculty members and the
administration over a one year time period to have it and other African-
centered materials banned.
Although the article on so-called "African American racism on campus" was
first published in 1993, I saw where Mehler was later quoted in a Time
article
dealing with "reverse racism" in 1994. When I went to his web page, I found
that now he's hooked up with the Whitehouse! He's part of Clinton's
Initiative
on Race.

Mehler's progression has been part of an on-going effort to destroy the
African-centered movement. It is part of the brain control machine that is
working to mold brothers and sisters into the way the oppressors want them to
be. He has advised the administrations and faculties at colleges around the
country to be on guard and to respond against certain information coming on
campus. He is on a mission to decide what our brothers and sisters need to
know.
We can never become complacent. We have to
make other brothers and sisters aware of the efforts to prevent "our story"
from being told. We have to be vigilant, because our struggle continues.
